FORT OF PORTOBELLO
After
about
an hour and 20 min drive we will reach Portobello (a
UNESCO
World Heritage Site), probably Spain’s most important port in the new
world. The widest remain of ruins from the fortifications that were used
to defend the town from
pirates
,like Sir Henry Morgan, who roamed the Caribbean
attracted by this immense wealth and
perhaps
the most heavily fortified of the Spanish control points along the coasts
of the Americas,
from where all the gold from South America looted by the

BOAT RIDE ON THE GATUN LAKE:
Once the largest manmade lake in
the world, at 422 square kilometers Lago Gatún is still a plenty
impressive body of water. It was formed by damming the Río Chagres
near its mouth, at Gatún, and is an integral part of the Panama Canal.
Transiting ships still follow the submerged river bed of the Chagres,
since it is the deepest part of the lake..........click

EL VALLE, CANOPY ADVENTURE & ZOO:

behavior of the animals and plants of the monument.

MONKEY ISLAND:
You will
travel at
high speed
on the canal for 25 minutes where
you might come close to some of the big
ships that transit the canal daily and then
the boat will go to
a crusing speed
traveling
along the forested banks of Gatun lake, also a protected area, and

for wildlife such as Capuchin Monkeys, 3toed Sloth, Howler Monkeys,
various kinds of Toucans and other birdlife. Truly a unique place to
observe the raw regenerative power of the forest as it struggles to claim
