Our
home is one of the few remaining houses, in Panama City, from the colonial
times. It was built by an Italian Florentine architect in 1940. The
government has recently passed a law in which the neighborhood of Bella
Vista has been declared “historical inheritance” to preserve colonial
houses and apartments thus prohibiting the construction of modern
buildings which would indeed destroy its artistic and historic
personality.
