Rome doesn't end with the historical center ("centro storico"), although it is the largest in the world. The surroundings of Rome are extremely charming and beautiful. There are thousands of places around Rome, in any direction:  the Etruscan towns north of Rome (Cerveteri, Tarquinia etc...), the charming seaside localities (Ladispoli, Fregene, Ostia etc.), the hill towns "Castelli Romani", which are known for excursions and wonderful wine tasting. Tivoli, just 40km (25 miles) east of Rome with its magnificent villas, Villa d'Este and Villa Adriana, was once the haven of the rich, first in Roman times and later during the Renaissance.   
These are the half day tours (4-6 hours) that we can arrange for you in the surroundings of Rome .
